Thanks for the link to the story about the Browns fan. It hits home is a lot of ways.

I was born and raised in Cleveland and attended Collinwood High School. That was in the 60's, the Browns were a strong team and the championships weren't that far in the past.

I raised my son and oldest grand-daughter as Browns fans, they went through the Kosar era, and I am working on my Grandson, my Daughter-in-law is a Redskins fan, so I have some problems there. As my Grandson is just a little over two I am working on the nice elf / bad savages theme.

But I wonder why? As a wise man once said “would you eat at the same bad restaurant for 40 years?”

That story was dead on, I live in Albuquerque,New Mexico and I Bleed Orange and Brown, so I understand the lifelong decision I made when I was 9, like him being born into it. 23 yrs later I am holding on to that Hope. My daughter always pulls for Josh to run one and it kills me when she says "Dad is THAT the score???!!?" , and I have to say..."Yeahhhhh, not too good huh?" , she shakes her head "no".

I know how you feel with your daughter. I almost feel guilty when I see my son barking at the tv when he sees the Dawg Pound guys. Fortunately, he is 2 so the real misery won't start for a few years. Please, god, let them fix this by then!
