Somehow I just could not leave these statements alone so please see my comments in blue:

''On the grounds of frustration and irritation with performance, then that's the medicine I [we] are going to take, and I accept that.

I hope the more fans protest, and hit your pocketbook, in other ways as well, so Mr. Lerner this is only the first dose. Although if you have been reading the American press you should have swallowed quite a few bitter pills already!

The goal this year was to rebuild the culture at the Browns.

Who's culture? You allowed Mr. Mangini to tear the Browns display out of the entrance way, let him bring in ten ex-Jets, and trade away the first round draft pick. Mr. Mangini is apparently trying to establish his own culture, not rebuild the Browns culture!

We felt at the end of last year that we lacked any overall philosophy, approach or direction regarding recruiting, drafting, coaching, preparation or training. As a result, each season was feeling like starting over and 4-12 following 10-6 felt painfully not all that surprising.

Well none of that should have been too surprising, yet you waited until the season was over to make any moves. Perhaps if you just hadn't given all that power to the Savage in the first place. Remember he was the guy that was going to build up the Browns using the draft.

''It's been way too long since the Browns have had anything to feel good about or invest in, and it's clear that the doubt and negativity are taking on a life of their own.

I am not sure about that, I felt pretty good when the Browns went 10-6, I would have felt better if they made the playoffs. As far as the negativity are you surprised? The Browns fans are always relentless, as they should be. As far as investing I have been a Browns fan far longer than you have been an owner but I am ashamed of the team the Browns are fielding now.

''What I can say is that we, and I, have remained open to new and fresh ideas and thinking and people with passion for the Browns and football experience getting involved and with hope and luck and support, making a difference.

What a crock! Are you trying to say you have been mislead by people you thought had the Browns best interest at heart and it’s not your fault? Mr. Lerner you are the owner it’s about time you learned that you can’t settle for the second choice, I am sure you could have enticed better people with the money you are spending on your ex-staff. You might have saved or made money!

We won't become entrenched or stubborn and despite my allergy to be more conspicuous, I do remain eager to seek help and guidance from any and all corners.''

Allergy my butt! I would hide too if I had made this big of a mess with a storied franchise like the Browns. Last place in the NFL in almost every category and a coach that continues to play the last place quarterback saying he sees promise and improvement.

Mr. Mangini has failed to establish a team of any sorts with his hand picked agglomeration of players. Just watch the games or read the press you'll here the same thing."They just aren't on the same page".

Mr. Lerner please do the right thing and sell the team to someone that has a real passion for Browns football, or perhaps I should say Gridiron.

Maybe just maybe we are going to be better. Of all the people released, how many are actually still in the NFL...and of them whos acutualy winning? Only player is Andra Davis w/Broncos, but hes even 2nd on their rotation.

Yeah I dont like losing, but I think we need to respect the fact that nobody has a knife to our throats, Lerner can only do so much, is it his fault Braylon led the league in drops, is it his fault K2 was out half his career, is it his fault Butch Davis never coached in the NFL before, I mean come on. Be realistic.

The ONE person I am done with is DA, he is MY end of the line. He is in charge of giving skill posistion players a chance to show skill, he can not do it. I would rather see Ratlif in ChiTown, seriously. I can't blame Lerner, not with DA and our Corners on the Field. Sorry.

Greetings ABQ,

Here are my comments:

My point is that the team Mr. Mangini has assembled, with Mr. Lerner’s approval, is worse than any Browns team I can remember. It’s worse than the 1999 Browns by far. Any team is the sum of all of the players so just looking at Adrea won’t tell the whole story. Is there any doubt in your mind the Browns are not a team? Again the commentators, on the Bears game, said they are not on the same page! Mangini has not made these guys into a team. He just tore down an existing foundation.

As far as the knife, as I pointed out, I was born and raised in Cleveland so I’ll always be a Browns fan. I was one before the Lerner family owned the team and, hopefully, I’ll be on after he sells the team.

As far as being realistic, yes all of those thing can be laid directly at the feet of Mr. Lerrner. He hired Botch knowing that most college coaches don’t do great things in the NFL. He stood by when Botch decided that he didn’t need Foge Fazio. As far as Braylon is concerned that seems to be Mr. Mangini’s biggest short coming. He can’t coach and motivate his players, I think Braylon will be alright with his new team.

As far as Anderson goes, it’s was Mangini that kept him in the starting position, but hopefully that’s over now. With Anderson finishing the Bears game with a 10 quarterback rating I hope we only see him on the bench. I don’t think the Browns can trade him for anything, but there might be a couple more washed up Jets players around.

Gee, I feel better already, but I’d feel better if Mr. Mangini was fired and Mr. Lerner sold the team.

"He just tore down an existing foundation."

Wow, you really think we had success with that foundation?!?! 07' was a hoax, we played horrible teams and lost to "decent" teams. It was NEVER a good foundation from 99 to NOW.

Same with me as a fan, ALWAYS will bleed Orange and Brown. No matter who fux up individually, I take it as a whole.

Ok, so Lerner is to blame for Tim Couch being a botch, even though he had the pedigree, PLEASE, there is so much blame to go around you can not pick one person. Realistically.

Washed up Jets players huh, come on, Barton and Bowens and Coleman are Constantly around the ball, I personally like those guys and the heart they play with. Like I said, how many players that were dropped are still playing in the NFL, THAT shows you the "talent" level and "foundation" we had. They SUCKED.

Well the Kock in Man-Kock is now gone, Dabol is hanging on by a thread now, he's going to share input with the QB's coach, NICEEEEE!

Wow, now you threw in poor Tim Couch!

Look Mr. Mangini has torn down any foundation the Browns had. Winslow and Edwards were athletes and good receivers. They might have bee hard to coach or manage but athletes none the less. I wish them both well and thank them for being Browns.

Tim Couch was sacrificed to put butts in the seats with a brand new expansion team I understood what was going on then and that was a different Mr. Lerner too.

The “washed up” Jets are going to be around the ball because that’s who Mr. Mangini has playing. It’s still Shaun Rogers, Dave Zastudil, Brian Ponbriand, and Josh Cribbs that have a chance to go to the probowl, while none of the ex-Jets are being mentioned.

This team will finish worse than last year’s team did unless more then Mr. Kokinis is released.

That’s why I said Mr. Mangini has torn down any foundation the Browns had he has gone from bad to worse in the name of progress that only he sees.

What is on tap for next year with Mr. Mangini at the helm 0-16??????

I love your passion but as far as the Jets players, I would love it if you could show me one football person to agree with you that Barton or Bowens are starting caliber players in the NFL. Coleman is also, well, washed up.

I like the friendly debates going on with you and OscarMad. Truth is, I think you're both right. ABQ, Mangini started with very little to build with. This is a team that needed at least three really good drafts to become truly competitive. That said, Mangini was a poor choice as a coach and it was a disaster to give him personnel authority. How could he possibly be ready for that? OscarMad, you are right, Mangini must go.
