I read all the time on the sony forums about people looking to find out how to download games to the ps3. The sad truth is that many people only assume that you can not do this without hacking your machine and opening it up to install a chip. This would be a good idea except that you void your warranty and some repair shops might not want to fix your device if it was previously opened.

I paid a pretty penny for my gaming system and I opted for the extended warranty in case anything was to happen it was covered. I paid out tons of money for this and at times I had some really cool games I came across but they were very expensive to purchase.

I was told by a few friends that you could download games to your ps3 and play games without having the disc inserted. I thought this would save me tons of money and I could borrow my friends games and play them all I wanted. This would be great for when we get together and play games since I could have all our usual games saved on my hard drive and ready to go.

The only problem was that most of the ways to make this happen is to rip your machine apart and use a soldering iron to put a chip in. I hated this idea and I knew that if I ever had to mail my system in to get fixed they would be able to tell right away it was taken apart and messed with.

I checked around and found a program that you could actually download to your machine and it would allow you to download games to your ps3. It seemed interesting and claimed it would never harm your warranty since it was a program that you could remove. I tried it out and sure enough I was able to save a copy of a game I had handy and I was able to play it without having the actual disk inserted.

I am very happy that I can enjoy any game now without even needing it actually inserted. This has allowed me to borrow my friends games and play them now and now I have a very nice collection saved on my hard drive.
