The New PlayStation 3 Slim: An Enhanced Gaming Experience

The PlayStation is a series of game console that is created and developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. Spanning seven generations of gaming, it was launched on December 3, 1994 in Japan. Since then, it has developed a lot and now has become a rage among gaming addicts.

The latest offering in the series is of the name PlayStation 3 Slim Console. It is better and an advanced version of PlayStation 2. As compared to the latter, it is smaller, lighter and consumes lesser power. Quantifying the changes, or rather the improvements, its size has been reduced by 32%, it is 36% lighter and utilizes up to 34% less power. The new PlayStation 3 Slim has been equipped with internet access, video chat, digital photo viewing and digital audio and video making features. Thus, it is poised to become the chief device of media set up of yours and the visitors who frequently visit your site.

PlayStation 3 Slim is primarily a gaming console. Keeping with the high-end game experience, an integral part of PlayStation series, it offers higher definition power to even the most recent releases of games such as Final Fantasy XIII, Modern Warfare 2, FIFA 10, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Tekken 6, Gear Solid 4 and Left 4 Dead 2. Even though the reduction in size is welcome and much needed, it is not as big as had been achieved when PlayStation 2 Slim had been launched.

The stability of the console is also good when made to stand on its own. Even though, a stand is not a part of the package, it can easily be picked up at a cost of $24. There are 2 USB ports which have been provided and has the same connectivity options as in other recent PS3 iterations. The new BD-ROM that has been provided keeps the discs safe even when the console is being shifted.
