How to prevent the Xbox from scratching the disks?
I believe that anyone owning an Xbox 360 knows that the console tends to scratch the disks you put into it after a while, I just got Halo Reach a week ago and I can already see scratches on it. Is there any way to stop that from happening? Like gluing or securing on a smooth cloth or something on the disk holder without covering the laser that reads the disk?
Is it possible to save my disks and the money that I have to spend to buy the same game again??
The best thing to do would be to lay the Xbox 360 on its side, away from other objects, on a solid surface that will not move.
Do not lay your Xbox 360 upright, as this increases the chances of disc scratching. If you are concerned about overheating, place even-level blocks underneath to unblock the Xbox 360’s fans.
I’ve been doing this for about 4 months now, and non of my Xbox 360 discs are scratched (I have around 8 – 9 games). Over time, your Xbox may degrade and begin scratching discs again, even with the above precautions. However, laying it on its side (rather than vertically) will substantially increase the life of your Xbox 360.
